Why a second opinion

Three reasons not to sign on the first number you're given

01

Predatory sales tactics

High-pressure "sign tonight" deadlines, inflated dealer fees buried in the total, and rates dressed up to look better than they are. The pressure exists for a reason — and it's not your benefit.

02

Misguided assumptions

Quotes lean on optimistic guesses — aggressive utility-inflation rates, best-case production, savings that quietly assume everything goes right. Change one assumption and the whole payback story can fall apart.

03

A 25-year commitment

This is a $30,000-plus decision you live with for decades. A few minutes checking the numbers now is nothing against the cost of being locked into the wrong deal for twenty-five years.

You hold the controls

The same levers the salesperson uses — in your hands

Behind every rosy solar pitch is a spreadsheet with assumptions dialed in to make the deal look good. We hand you that same spreadsheet. Adjust any assumption yourself and watch the numbers move in real time.

  • Your utility rate and how fast you think it'll rise
  • How much power the panels really produce, and how they fade over time
  • Loan terms, dealer fees, and every incentive we found
  • Run it cautious, expected, or optimistic — see the full range

If a deal only works when every dial is set to "best case," that tells you something. Now you can see it for yourself.

Common questions

Things homeowners ask us

Can my installer see my analysis?

No. Your quote data is never shared with installers, solar companies, or any third party. We have no financial relationship with anyone in the solar industry.

Why is this a one-time payment and not free?

Free solar tools are usually funded by installer referral fees — which gives them a reason to tell you your quote is great. We charge a flat fee so our only obligation is to you.

What kinds of quotes can you analyze?

Loan, cash, lease, and PPA quotes are all supported. Side-by-side comparison of multiple quotes is coming soon — leave your email on the pricing section and we'll let you know when it's ready.

My installer is pressuring me to sign today. Can I use this fast?

Yes — most homeowners finish in under five minutes. And any installer who won't give you five minutes to check their numbers is telling you something.

What information do I need to get started?

Your written quote: system size in kW, total price, any dealer or financing fees, the loan terms, and a recent utility bill. Everything you need is on the proposal your installer already gave you.
